How to place a single bet

Betting on PlayNow no longer requires you to create parlay bets. You can choose to add a single Pick to your Betslip.

The next step is to enter your wager amount by clicking on the wager amount field. Doing this will calculate your potential winnings for the bet and will enable the ‘PLACE BET’ button at the bottom of the Betslip which you should click to place your bet.

You can add up to 20 single picks to your Betslip and can add a different wager amount for each of these and place your bet for all of them at the same time.

How to place a parlay bet

In order to make a parlay bet, select two or more picks to add to your Betslip. Once you have enough combinable picks on your Betslip to create a valid bet, the parlay betting option at the top of the Betslip or below the Singles selections will be displayed. The number of picks you have added to your Betslip will determine the number of parlay options available to bet on.

To place a bet (or multiple bets) enter your wager amount and click on the ‘PLACE BET' button at the bottom of your Betslip when you are ready to place your bet.

Confirming your bet

Now that your wagers have been entered, you are satisfied with your Potential Return (featured near the bottom of the Bet Slip) and have clicked the 'Place Bet' button, you will be displayed a summary of your bet on a confirmation screen.

All-in Play

All-in play means bets having odds reflecting that the competitor may not play or take part in the event. If the Selection does not play or take part in the event, the bet stands as a non-winner.

American Odds

Also sometimes referred to as "Money Line Odds". American odds reveal the amount you must wager or can win on any selection based on $100 increment. If the odds offered on a particular event result are -110, it means that in order to 'win' $100 you would need to bet $110. If the odds are +110, it means that if you wagered $100, you would win $110. In this example you would calculate your payout by also adding your initial stake (wager).

Ante Post

Refers to any bet placed more than a day before the start of an event.

A Canadian consists of 26 bets on 5 picks in different events (10 Doubles, 10 Trebles, five 4-Fold parlay and one 5-Fold parlay) Two or more picks must be correct for a winning bet. A $1 Canadian costs $26 ($1 x 26 bets). (Similar to Sports Action Combo Play - Go for 2, (10 two game combos), Go for 3 (10 three game combos), Go for 4 (5 four game combos) and "go for all").

Dead Heat

A Dead Heat refers to an outcome where two or more competitors are tied for the same winning position (according to terms of your bet). In this instance your bet is settled under the 'dead heat reduction rules' for that event.

Dead Heat Reduction Rule

A Dead Heat Reduction is calculated by dividing the wager amount proportionally between the number of winners in the event. So, in a two-way dead heat (2 winners) for example, your return will be half of what was originally projected.

Decimal Odds

The odds expressed as a decimal number. Total odds are determined by multiplying the value (odds) of each selection, and then multiplying by the wager amount. Example: With decimal odds for a two event parlay with 2.50 for one selection, 2.00 for another selection and wager amount of $10, this bet would return $50.

Double

A Double (parlay) is one bet on 2 picks in different events. Both picks in a Double must be correct for a winning bet. (Similar to Sports Action Combo Play -Go for 2).

Double Chance

A "Double Chance" bet requires choosing one of the three selections offered. Each Double Chance selection covers two out of the three possible outcomes (Home win or Draw; Home win or Visitor win; Draw or Visitor win). With a Double Chance bet, you are hedging your bet by betting on TWO of the three possible outcomes in one bet.

Double Result

Also known as "Half Time/Full Time" as it pertains to Soccer betting, this bet requires the prediction of the outcome at half time AND at full time (end of 90 minutes). Double Result rules vary based on sport. Refer to the specific sports rules for full details regarding settlement.
For Soccer - Pick the team to be winning at Half-Time (or tie) AND the result after 90 Minutes.
For Hockey betting- Pick the result at the end of the first period combined with the result at the end of regulation (60 minutes).
For Football and Basketball betting- Pick the team to be winning at Half-Time (or tie) AND the team to win the game at the end of regulation (or the tie).

Draw (Tie) No Bet

A bet where the Player backs both the Win and the Draw so that they profit from a Win and break even from the Draw result.

Forecast

A straight forecast is a bet on two selections to finish first and second in a particular order.

Fractional Odds

Fractional odds: Display is shown as a fraction, where numerator represents amount to win from wager amount shown in denominator.
For example: Odds of 1/3 mean that bettor wins $1 for each $3 staked (thus equal to 1.333... in decimal format), and 2/1 mean that bettor wins $2 for each unit staked (thus equal 3.00 in decimal format). So, with a stake of $100, profit on first bet is $33.33, and on the second bet, profit is $200. Profit is calculated as: wager amount multiplied by the fractional odds.

Full Cover Bet

A Full Cover Bet is a bet which consists of various combinations of parlays available from all picks on the Bet Slip (e.g. Trixie, Patent, Yankee, etc.).

Half Time/Full Time

Also known as "Double Result". A bet placed on the result at BOTH half time and full time. For soccer matches, it includes a total of 9 outcomes, as compared to 3 outcomes in standard Match betting. Subsequently, odds are significantly higher, especially for outcomes with one team to win at half time and other team to win at full time.
There is often confusion with "Half Time/Full Time" and with the bet "Team to Win Both Halves". For example, if the result of the match Vancouver vs. Portland was 4-0 at half-time and 5-2 at full time, the bet "Vancouver Half Time/Vancouver Full Time" would be a winner; however, the bet "Vancouver to Win Both Halves" would not be a winner, as the result of second half was 1-2 in Portland’s favour.

Heinz

A Heinz consists of 57 bets on 6 picks in different events (15 Doubles, 20 Trebles, fifteen 4-Folds, six 5-Folds and one 6-Folds). Two or more picks must be correct for a winning bet. Point Spread

A Point Spread bet helps even the odds of any particular sporting event by subtracting points from the favoured competitor and subsequently adding the same amount of points to the weaker competitor. Each team has points either added or subtracted from the final score, to then determine if the bet is a winner. For example, if you bet the Point Spread on Vancouver at (-1), and Vancouver won the match 1-0, then the Point Spread result would actually be a Draw.

Scorecast

A bet requiring the prediction of both the player to score first AND correct score in the game or match (for example, Messi to score first AND Barcelona to win 2-0). The odds of both outcomes are combined into one offer (single). We do not fully void a Scorecast if the player does not partake in the game instead the bet is settled as a Correct Score single bet. The first goalscorer part of the bet is governed by the same rules as first goalscorer single bets - own goals do not count and if your player either comes on before the first goal is scored or goes off without scoring, the entire bet is deemed as a non-winner.

A bet offered for a Team to win both the first half AND the second half.
